Absence

by Tyler S

An abscess of a premise to begin with

Awkward cab farewells, overwrought adieus

We buttress our egos with banalities

Begin again but with more cowbell

Scenic routes sustained on what there is to see

Not who is there to see it with

Enough earthlight to fill the eclair, enough lust

To lose sight of what is eidolon and what is fair

Nomnom nomadic doctrine, nurture a vice

Into whatever form needed, nautical hopewells,

Carlsbad caverns, advertisements crammed into

A constant state of hostage, or a cave I assume

Something elusive yet enthralling. Remain enigmatic

A blurry photograph with a text miss your embrace
